Las gafas homologadas con filtros solares certificados espec\u00edficos son la \u00ab\u00fanica forma segura\u00bb de ver un eclipse solar total, como el que se producir\u00e1 el pr\u00f3ximo 12 de agosto, seg\u00fan el oftalm\u00f3logo del Instituto Cl\u00ednico Quir\u00fargico de Oftalmolog\u00eda (ICQO), Sergio Eguiza.<\/p>\n
Observar un eclipse sin protecci\u00f3n adecuada puede causar \u00abda\u00f1os graves e irreversibles\u00bb en los ojos. De hecho, esta pr\u00e1ctica podr\u00eda generar la retinopat\u00eda solar, que se produce cuando la radiaci\u00f3n da\u00f1a los fotorreceptores de la retina, provocando lesiones que pueden ser permanentes y que, en muchos casos, no se perciben hasta d\u00edas despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
El pr\u00f3ximo 12 de agosto, el cielo de gran parte de la pen\u00ednsula ofrecer\u00e1 un eclipse solar total. Durante unos instantes, la luna tapar\u00e1 por completo el sol, lo que har\u00e1 que el d\u00eda se oscurezca brevemente y dejar\u00e1 ver la corono solar, una de las im\u00e1genes \u00abm\u00e1s impresionantes\u00bb del cielo. Este fen\u00f3meno alcanzar\u00e1 su punto m\u00e1ximo al atardecer y la fase completa durar\u00e1 solo unos 30 segundos, y no volver\u00e1 a repetirse en d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n
Como explica el especialista, el \u00abprincipal problema\u00bb es que, aunque el sol est\u00e9 parcialmente cubierto, la radiaci\u00f3n \u00absigue siendo igual de peligrosa\u00bb. Es por ello que el eclipse genera una falsa sensaci\u00f3n de seguridad, y, en ocasiones, hay pacientes que \u00abacuden d\u00edas despu\u00e9s con una mancha central en la visi\u00f3n que ya no desaparece\u00bb.<\/p>\n
En este contexto, los especialistas han insistido en que la \u00fanica forma segura de ver el eclipse son las gafas homologadas con filtros solares certificados (ISO 12312-2 con marca CE).<\/p>\n
TRES CAPAS DE PROTECCI\u00d3N <\/h2>\n
Estas gafas cuentan con tres capas de protecci\u00f3n: el primer filtro bloquea el 97 por ciento de la radiaci\u00f3n infrarroja, el segundo elimina el 97 por ciento de la radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta y el tercero reduce el 99,99 por ciento de la luz visible, evitando da\u00f1os graves en los ojos. Gracias a esto, bloquean la radiaci\u00f3n da\u00f1ina y permiten ver \u00ab\u00fanicamente el disco solar\u00bb. Adem\u00e1s, estas gafas se pueden utilizar encima de las gafas graduadas.<\/p>\n
\u00abEs importante que queden bien ajustadas a la cara, sobre todo en el caso de los ni\u00f1os, que a veces se las quitan sin darse cuenta; por eso conviene estar pendientes de ellos para asegurarse de que las usan correctamente durante todo el eclipse\u00bb, ha declarado.<\/p>\n
El doctor Eguiza, al mismo tiempo, ha recomendado no utilizar gafas de sol comunes, evitar el uso de prism\u00e1ticos, telescopios o c\u00e1maras sin filtros solares profesionales y optar por m\u00e9todos indirectos, como la proyecci\u00f3n con una c\u00e1mara estenopeica. Al mismo tiempo, ha recordado que durante la observaci\u00f3n, es importante hacer pausas peri\u00f3dicas.<\/p>\n
Aunque el d\u00eda est\u00e9 nublado y el sol no se vea directamente, el eclipse sigue siendo perceptible por los cambios en la luz y la temperatura, pero esto \u00abno sustituye\u00bb la protecci\u00f3n ocular durante la observaci\u00f3n directa.<\/p>\n
Sergio Eguiza, por \u00faltimo, ha advertido de que si tras el eclipse se experimenta visi\u00f3n borrosa, aparici\u00f3n de manchas, destellos o distorsiones, \u00abes fundamental\u00bb acudir \u00abinmediatamente\u00bb a un especialista para una evaluaci\u00f3n ocular.<\/p>\n
