Megan Thee Stallion<\/a> is entering what she calls her \u201cLover Girl\u201d era \u2014 and she says she didn\u2019t plan it.<\/p>\n

In a new exclusive interview with PEOPLE<\/a><\/em>, the three-time Grammy winner reflected on her relationship with Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson<\/a> and how focusing on her own healing helped open the door to love.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I don\u2019t never want to tell [anybody] to just jump in a relationship just because everybody else got one, and I\u2019m not going to tell you to just jump in a relationship because you have to,\u201d the rapper said. \u201cI didn\u2019t even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest.\u201d <\/p>\n

Megan and Thompson made their red carpet debut in July 2025. But she says the relationship came at a time when she was prioritizing therapy and self-growth. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think that because finally I started being in a better mind space about myself and my life, and I had already been doing a lot of work to heal me,\u201d she said. \u201cI had been going to therapy, I had a bunch of activities that I started doing for myself; maybe God just opened up that space for me to have somebody that loved me right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, she says, she feels a level of ease she hasn\u2019t experienced before. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the first times that I\u2019ve ever been just overly comfortable,\u201d Megan said with a laugh: \u201cI\u2019m comfy, babe!\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, she cautions fans against chasing love.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople got to stop trying to be in love and trying to chase love,\u201d she said. \u201cThey just got to let it come to them. When it\u2019s meant for you, it\u2019s going to happen. God does not give you nothing that is not meant for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair first sent fans into a frenzy in July 2025, when Megan posted a vacation IG photo<\/a> featuring Klay Thompson in the background. <\/p>\n
