Un reciente estudio explor\u00f3 el impacto de los agujeros negros supermasivos en la habitabilidad de los exoplanetas a su alrededor. Ahora sabemos por qu\u00e9<\/a><\/div>\n<p>Existen agujeros negros que son demasiado grandes para nacer de la muerte de una estrella, pero tampoco son los supermasivos. Al fin hay evidencia sobre c\u00f3mo estos podr\u00edan surgir.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<p>Los UFO son flujos de gas y plasma expulsados desde las regiones m\u00e1s intensas de un agujero negro activo, a velocidades de hasta el 10% de la velocidad de la luz. Son entre 50 y 100 veces m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidos que el <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wired.com\/articulos\/que-es-el-viento-solar-la-agencia-espacial-europea-nos-da-la-respuesta\">viento solar<\/a> que recibe la Tierra, pero distintos a los <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wired.com\/articulos\/jet-de-agujero-negro-se-topa-con-un-objeto-cuyos-brazos-miden-700-anos-luz\">chorros relativistas<\/a>, flujos de part\u00edculas que viajan en una direcci\u00f3n \u00fanica y estrecha, como un l\u00e1ser, a casi el 99% del l\u00edmite de velocidad. El mecanismo de los UFO se confirm\u00f3 a principios de los 2000. Sus implicaciones en el entorno gal\u00e1ctico todav\u00eda se estudian con detenimiento.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que hace especialmente interesante a los UFO, a diferencia de los chorros relativistas, es que se expanden en todas direcciones como una burbuja gigante. Eso significa que no hace falta tener mala suerte y estar justo en el camino del \u00abdisparo\u00bb: cualquier planeta dentro de la galaxia podr\u00eda recibir su influencia.<\/p>\n<h2>Lo que dicen las simulaciones<\/h2>\n<p>El equipo de investigadores simul\u00f3 qu\u00e9 le ocurrir\u00eda a planetas similares a la Tierra ubicados a diferentes distancias del centro de una galaxia, variando adem\u00e1s la masa del agujero negro central. Esta \u00faltima variable result\u00f3 ser determinante. Cuando se trata de agujeros negros supermasivos, los \u00abtama\u00f1os\u00bb var\u00edan hasta en un factor de 100,000. <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wired.com\/articulos\/centro-de-la-via-lactea-es-un-nucleo-de-materia-oscura-no-un-agujero-negro-propone-estudio\">Sagitario A*<\/a>, el agujero negro al centro de la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea, tiene unos 4 millones de masas solares. Otros bien localizados en el universo alcanzan los 10,000 millones. Entre ambos extremos, el estudio encontr\u00f3 diferencias dram\u00e1ticas en el da\u00f1o que pueden causar.<\/p>\n<p>A mayor masa del agujero negro, peores noticias para cualquier planeta cercano. Los vientos ultrarr\u00e1pidos pueden calentar las atm\u00f3sferas planetarias hasta temperaturas de millones de grados, suficiente para que las mol\u00e9culas del aire alcancen velocidades superiores a la necesaria para escapar de la gravedad del planeta y perderse en el espacio para siempre. En los casos m\u00e1s extremos, incluso una atm\u00f3sfera tan densa como la de Venus, unas 90 veces m\u00e1s masiva que la terrestre, ser\u00eda completamente arrasada.<\/p>\n<p>El hallazgo m\u00e1s inquietante tiene que ver con el ozono. Los vientos de alta energ\u00eda generan \u00f3xidos de nitr\u00f3geno que destruyen esta capa de forma encadenada, capa por capa, sin freno. <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.3847\/1538-4357\/ae5e6f\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.3847\/1538-4357\/ae5e6f&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.3847\/1538-4357\/ae5e6f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">El estudio<\/a> encontr\u00f3 que para agujeros negros de m\u00e1s de 100 millones de masas solares, la capa de ozono de un planeta similar a la Tierra podr\u00eda destruirse casi por completo. Sin ella, la radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta de la estrella anfitriona llega sin filtro a la superficie.
