Cultivos frutales lideran aumento de 12.1% en primer trimestre<\/h2>\n

La producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana mostr\u00f3 un desempe\u00f1o positivo durante el primer trimestre de 2026, impulsada principalmente por el aumento en las cosechas de frutas, hortalizas y leguminosas, de acuerdo con el m\u00e1s reciente bolet\u00edn de la Oficina Nacional de Estad\u00edstica (ONE).<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Los cultivos frutales encabezaron el crecimiento del sector al superar los 1.7 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, un volumen que representa un incremento de 12.1 %<\/strong> respecto al mismo per\u00edodo del a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n

El informe correspondiente al per\u00edodo enero-marzo revela que las frutas no solo lideraron la producci\u00f3n nacional en volumen, sino tambi\u00e9n en rendimiento por superficie cultivada, con un promedio de 29 toneladas por hect\u00e1rea<\/strong>, consolid\u00e1ndose como el principal motor del crecimiento agr\u00edcola dominicano en los primeros meses del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Frutas, mus\u00e1ceas y hortalizas impulsan el sector<\/h3>\n

Las mus\u00e1ceas<\/strong>, grupo que incluye productos de amplio consumo como pl\u00e1tanos y guineos<\/strong>, ocuparon la segunda posici\u00f3n en volumen de producci\u00f3n con 767 mil 719 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, para un crecimiento de 2.6 %<\/strong> en comparaci\u00f3n con el primer trimestre de 2025. Su rendimiento promedio alcanz\u00f3 las 2.7 toneladas por hect\u00e1rea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, las hortalizas y vegetales<\/strong> registraron una producci\u00f3n de 482 mil 371 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, equivalente a un incremento de 9.7 %<\/strong> interanual. Este segmento mostr\u00f3 adem\u00e1s un elevado aprovechamiento agr\u00edcola, con un rendimiento de 21.7 toneladas por hect\u00e1rea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Otro de los rubros con mejor comportamiento fue el de las leguminosas<\/strong>, donde se incluyen productos como las habichuelas y los guandules<\/strong>. Su producci\u00f3n creci\u00f3 14.8 %<\/strong>, hasta alcanzar 52 mil 577 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>. No obstante, este grupo present\u00f3 uno de los rendimientos m\u00e1s bajos, con apenas 1.3 toneladas por hect\u00e1rea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Crecen ra\u00edces y oleaginosas<\/h3>\n

La ONE inform\u00f3 adem\u00e1s que la producci\u00f3n de ra\u00edces y tub\u00e9rculos<\/strong> aument\u00f3 1.8 %<\/strong>, situ\u00e1ndose en 160 mil 301 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, mientras que las oleaginosas<\/strong> alcanzaron una producci\u00f3n de 158 mil 748 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, para una expansi\u00f3n de 2.0 %<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

En contraste, los cereales<\/strong> fueron el \u00fanico grupo agr\u00edcola que registr\u00f3 una ca\u00edda significativa. Seg\u00fan el informe, su producci\u00f3n descendi\u00f3 17.1 %<\/strong>, hasta ubicarse en 69 mil 869 toneladas m\u00e9tricas<\/strong>, con un rendimiento promedio de 2.9 toneladas por hect\u00e1rea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Producci\u00f3n crece, pero persisten presiones en precios<\/h3>\n

El reporte sobre el desempe\u00f1o agr\u00edcola coincide con datos divulgados por el Banco Central<\/strong>, que indican que la inflaci\u00f3n interanual alcanz\u00f3 5.35 % en mayo de 2026<\/strong>, superando el l\u00edmite superior del rango meta establecido en 4.0 % \u00b1 1.0 %<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Entre los productos que registraron aumentos de precios figuran los tomates, verduras y otros alimentos b\u00e1sicos<\/strong>, una situaci\u00f3n que refleja que, pese al crecimiento de la producci\u00f3n nacional, persisten presiones en algunos segmentos del mercado agroalimentario.<\/p>\n

Las cifras del primer trimestre muestran un sector agr\u00edcola con se\u00f1ales de expansi\u00f3n y una mayor disponibilidad de productos clave para el consumo nacional. Sin embargo, la evoluci\u00f3n de los costos de producci\u00f3n, las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas y el comportamiento de los precios seguir\u00e1n siendo factores determinantes para el desempe\u00f1o del agro dominicano durante el resto de 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
