En virtud de la situaci\u00f3n actual, propongo que el sistema educativo dominicano sea revisado de inmediato. No es posible que, en pleno siglo XXI, sigamos graduando bachilleres que solo hablen espa\u00f1ol y un ingl\u00e9s a medias. Hay dos idiomas que hoy deben ser incluidos de forma obligatoria en nuestro curr\u00edculo: el creole y el mandar\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfPOR QU\u00c9 CREOLE? POR ISLA Y POR SEGURIDAD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El solo hecho de compartir la misma isla con Hait\u00ed lo dice todo: un pa\u00eds culturalmente distinto al nuestro, pero con once millones de habitantes. Ya es cotidiano escuchar creole en nuestras calles, avenidas, colmados, mercados, plazas comerciales, pica pollos, construcciones y en los hogares donde mujeres haitianas realizan labores dom\u00e9sticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planteo un caso hipot\u00e9tico: usted va pasando con su familia y hay dos personas hablando en creole. Le saludan y se r\u00eden, pero usted y yo, al desconocer el idioma, no sabemos si comentan sobre f\u00fatbol, m\u00fasica… o si est\u00e1n planificando alguna fechor\u00eda. Como no entendemos ni pizca, sin darnos cuenta podr\u00edamos estar caminando hacia la boca del lobo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aclaro: son suposiciones, Dios nos libre. Mi inter\u00e9s no es crear paranoia, sino llamar a la prevenci\u00f3n. El idioma es una herramienta de defensa; por seguridad, nos evita cualquier contratiempo. Ense\u00f1ar creole no es \u00abhaitianizar\u00bb a nadie; es inteligencia. Es saber qu\u00e9 sucede en tu propio pa\u00eds; es poder comunicarse en una emergencia, en una farmacia, en un hospital o en un destacamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfPOR QU\u00c9 MANDAR\u00cdN? POR ECONOM\u00cdA Y POR FUTURO

Recordemos que China es hoy nuestro segundo socio comercial; est\u00e1n presentes en nuestros puertos, en las inversiones y en la tecnolog\u00eda. El siglo XXI se escribe, en gran medida, en mandar\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aplica la misma l\u00f3gica: si dos personas conversan en mandar\u00edn, le sonr\u00eden y usted no tiene la m\u00e1s m\u00ednima idea de qu\u00e9 dijeron, est\u00e1 en desventaja. En la relaci\u00f3n comercial ocurre igual: el que domina el idioma, domina el contrato. Al final llega el lamento: \u00ab\u00a1Ay, me enga\u00f1aron!\u00bb, simplemente porque firm\u00f3 lo que el otro quiso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si no aprendemos mandar\u00edn, nos lo van a imponer. Seremos v\u00edctimas de estafas y llegaremos tarde a las oportunidades de empleo y becas. Saber es seguridad nacional; no es desconfianza, es preparaci\u00f3n. Estar preparado te da poder, porque te pone en alerta sobre lo que ocurre a tu alrededor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imag\u00ednense a un joven que hable espa\u00f1ol-ingl\u00e9s-creole o espa\u00f1ol-ingl\u00e9s-mandar\u00edn. Vale por tres en el mercado laboral. Tendr\u00eda la soberan\u00eda necesaria para no depender de traductores ni intermediarios para hablar con nuestro vecino ni con nuestro principal socio comercial. El conocimiento rompe muros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ojal\u00e1 que, ante este llamado, no aparezcan los \u00abpatrioteros\u00bb de siempre, esos que usan el tema haitiano para estar de moda y subirse a la ola de un nacionalismo trasnochado. Esos que reducen la realidad a insultos b\u00e1sicos, atribuy\u00e9ndoles a otros todos los males. Hago esta salvedad porque no faltar\u00e1 quien me acuse de querer \u00abhaitianizar el pa\u00eds\u00bb, cuando lo \u00fanico que sue\u00f1o es con una naci\u00f3n preparada.

Mientras en \u00c1frica ya est\u00e1n ense\u00f1ando mandar\u00edn, nosotros seguimos estancados en el chisme medi\u00e1tico. Seguimos en el siglo XIX a nivel educativo. Por eso es urgente que el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n incluya el creole y el mandar\u00edn como materias obligatorias. El futuro no se habla en un solo idioma y, por seguridad, comercio y dignidad, m\u00e1s nos vale empezar a aprender.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
