Dado que la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre emite luz precisamente en esta misma banda de longitudes de onda, resulta a\u00fan m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil detectar estos objetos celestes tenues con telescopios terrestres.<\/p>\n<p>Debido a estas limitaciones, se ha considerado casi imposible buscar cu\u00e1sares desde la Tierra. La clave para superar este obst\u00e1culo ha sido una t\u00e9cnica de observaci\u00f3n que combina los estudios de amplio alcance en luz visible e infrarrojo cercano realizados por Euclid (que opera fuera de la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre) <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wired.com\/articulos\/premio-nobel-de-fisica-2024-para-john-hopfield-y-geoffrey-hinton-por-sus-avances-en-el-aprendizaje-automatico\">con el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Euclid puede observar amplias zonas del cielo con gran precisi\u00f3n, sin verse afectado por la luz de la atm\u00f3sfera que dificulta las observaciones terrestres. Adem\u00e1s, mediante el uso de m\u00e9todos estad\u00edsticos que combinan varios algoritmos para filtrar los candidatos, se ha logrado seleccionar de forma eficiente, entre decenas de millones de objetos celestes, los candidatos a cu\u00e1sares que se ocultan entre estrellas y galaxias muy similares.<\/p>\n<p>De los 123 candidatos seleccionados de este modo, los investigadores llevaron a cabo observaciones espectrosc\u00f3picas (observaciones en las que se separa la luz por longitudes de onda para analizar sus componentes) con el telescopio Keck de Haw\u00e1i, el telescopio Magallanes de Chile y el Gran Telescopio Binocular (LBT) de Arizona, y confirmaron que 31 de ellos eran cu\u00e1sares aut\u00e9nticos.<\/p>\n<p>En los estudios anteriores sobre los cu\u00e1sares, no quedaba m\u00e1s remedio que encontrar estos raros objetos uno a uno y confirmarlos mediante observaciones espectrosc\u00f3picas. Como resultado, se descubri\u00f3 que este cuerpo celeste se encuentra en el interior de una galaxia rica en polvo y gas, en la que se est\u00e1 produciendo una intensa formaci\u00f3n estelar. Se considera que esto puede servir de pista para comprender en qu\u00e9 tipo de entorno crecieron los primeros agujeros negros supermasivos.<\/p>\n<p>Estos cu\u00e1sares se remontan a una \u00e9poca conocida como el periodo de la \u201creionizaci\u00f3n del universo\u201d.
