Domingo, 16 dic (EFE).- El Banco de Desarrollo de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (CAF) aprob\u00f3 la concesi\u00f3n de dos pr\u00e9stamos a Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, que suman 566 millones de d\u00f3lares, orientados a potenciar la seguridad h\u00eddrica de la capital y la provincia de Santo Domingo, y modernizar el sistema penitenciario.<\/p>\n<p>Las iniciativas responden a prioridades nacionales estrat\u00e9gicas y mejorar\u00e1n la calidad de vida de millones de dominicanos, afirm\u00f3 el CAF en un comunicado difundido este martes.<\/p>\n<div id readability=\"30\">\n<div readability=\"13\">\n<p>La primera operaci\u00f3n es un financiamiento por hasta 300 millones de d\u00f3lares para el Proyecto de Acueducto Presa Hatillo\u2013Santo Domingo, que permitir\u00e1 construir infraestructura para captaci\u00f3n, conducci\u00f3n, potabilizaci\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n de agua potable desde el embalse de Hatillo (noreste) hacia la capital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>AMPLIA OFERTA DE AGUA A CINCO METROS CUBICOS<\/strong><\/p>\n<div readability=\"21\">\n<p>El proyecto ejecutado por la Corporaci\u00f3n del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), ampl\u00eda la oferta de agua a la ciudad en 5 metros c\u00fabicos, lo que permitir\u00e1 aumentar la continuidad, fortalecer la gobernanza, la gesti\u00f3n integrada y sostenibilidad del recurso h\u00eddrico.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo a la informaci\u00f3n, se trata de la mayor intervenci\u00f3n de agua para el Gran Santo Domingo, alineada con la Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo (END) de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, y beneficiar\u00e1 a alrededor de 2,7 millones de habitantes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>MODERNIZACION SISTEMA PENITENCIARIO<\/strong><\/p>\n<div readability=\"11\">\n<p>La segunda operaci\u00f3n aprobada corresponde al Programa de Reforma y Modernizaci\u00f3n del Sistema Penitenciario, ejecutado por el Ministerio de Vivienda, H\u00e1bitat y Edificaciones con un financiamiento de 266 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>El programa, seg\u00fan el CAF, busca reducir la reincidencia y promover la reinserci\u00f3n social efectiva de personas privadas de libertad mediante la construcci\u00f3n y adecuaci\u00f3n de centros de correcci\u00f3n y rehabilitaci\u00f3n \u00abdignos y
