La prometedora tecnologia aspira a trabajar en conjunto con la infraestructura de m\u00e1quinas cu\u00e1nticas m\u00e1s populares de la actualidad.<\/p>\n<p>Investigadores de la Universidad de Surrey y la Universidad Northwestern dise\u00f1aron la arquitectura te\u00f3rica de un c\u00fabit basado en helio-3 superfluido. La propuesta busca una alternativa a los c\u00fabits superconductores, una de las tecnolog\u00edas m\u00e1s utilizadas en <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wired.com\/articulos\/la-enciclopedia-wired-para-la-computacion-cuantica\">computaci\u00f3n cu\u00e1ntica<\/a> y que se caracteriza por ser extremadamente sensible a las perturbaciones de su entorno.<\/p>\n<p>De concretarse, los c\u00fabits de superfluido ser\u00edan radicalmente distintos a los superconductores. En lugar de funcionar a partir de corrientes el\u00e9ctricas, aprovechar\u00edan el flujo de un superfluido: una corriente de masa sin carga el\u00e9ctrica. Los autores describen la superfluidez como el equivalente el\u00e9ctricamente neutro de la superconductividad. Un paso fundamental para iniciar una revoluci\u00f3n que tambi\u00e9n cambiar\u00e1 la forma de utilizar la inteligencia artificial.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<p>De acuerdo con un comunicado de la Universidad de Surrey (en Reino Unido), los c\u00e1lculos del equipo apuntan a tasas de error alrededor de 100 veces menores que las de los c\u00fabits superconductores convencionales. La ventaja todav\u00eda no ha sido demostrada experimentalmente. El <em>paper<\/em>, publicado en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41534-026-01355-3\"><em>npj Quantum Information<\/em><\/a>, presenta por ahora un dise\u00f1o te\u00f3rico y una serie de c\u00e1lculos sobre c\u00f3mo deber\u00eda comportarse el dispositivo. El art\u00edculo estima, entre otras cosas, que algunos de sus dise\u00f1os podr\u00edan alcanzar tiempos de coherencia de varios milisegundos.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLas matem\u00e1ticas nos dicen que deber\u00eda funcionar. Hemos tomado lo que ya sabemos sobre el helio superfluido y las tecnolog\u00edas cu\u00e1nticas y lo hemos convertido en un dise\u00f1o educado, con los par\u00e1metros y especificaciones necesarios para construir uno. El siguiente paso es hacer un prototipo y poner a prueba esas predicciones\u00bb, dijo Priya Sharma, una de las autoras del estudio, en un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/news-releases\/1143658\">comunicado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00f3mo convertir un l\u00edquido en un c\u00fabit?<\/h2>\n<p>El dispositivo es relativamente sencillo de imaginar. Consiste en una diminuta cavidad llena de helio-3 superfluido, con una abertura nanom\u00e9trica por la que el l\u00edquido puede entrar y salir. Una de las paredes de la cavidad ser\u00eda una membrana flexible que se mover\u00eda con los cambios de presi\u00f3n producidos por el flujo del helio. El movimiento del helio a trav\u00e9s de esa peque\u00f1a abertura har\u00eda oscilar la membrana. Bajo las condiciones adecuadas, los investigadores calculan que esas oscilaciones podr\u00edan adquirir un comportamiento cu\u00e1ntico y utilizarse para construir un c\u00fabit.<\/p>\n<p>Hacerlo requerir\u00eda condiciones extremas. Los dise\u00f1os analizados en el estudio contemplan dispositivos de apenas unos micr\u00f3metros y temperaturas de fracciones de milikelvin.
