Su investigaci\u00f3n apunta a que bloquear una prote\u00edna llamada interleucina-11 permitir\u00eda <strong>regenerar el ri\u00f1\u00f3n<\/strong> y mejorar su funci\u00f3n en casos de da\u00f1o prolongado.<\/p>\n<p>El hallazgo resulta relevante porque la insuficiencia renal suele avanzar de manera progresiva y, en etapas avanzadas, las opciones se reducen a di\u00e1lisis o trasplante.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-como-la-il-11-impide-regenerar-el-rinon\">C\u00f3mo la IL-11 impide regenerar el ri\u00f1\u00f3n<\/h2>\n<p>La interleucina-11, conocida como IL-11, es una prote\u00edna que participa en procesos de comunicaci\u00f3n entre c\u00e9lulas. Durante a\u00f1os se crey\u00f3 que cumpl\u00eda funciones protectoras, pero estudios recientes han mostrado que tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 relacionada con el desarrollo de fibrosis.<\/p>\n<p>En el ri\u00f1\u00f3n, esta prote\u00edna activa mecanismos que generan cicatrices en el tejido. Con el tiempo, estas cicatrices afectan la capacidad del \u00f3rgano para filtrar la sangre y mantener el equilibrio del cuerpo.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores observaron que, cuando la IL-11 est\u00e1 activa, el proceso natural de reparaci\u00f3n se bloquea.
