SUIZA.- El presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, ha afirmado este mi\u00e9rcoles que Estados Unidos es \u00abel \u00fanico pa\u00eds capaz de proteger Groenlandia\u00bb ante las crecientes tensiones geopol\u00edticas a nivel mundial y ha pedido abrir negociaciones para comprar el territorio, el cual ha descrito como un \u00abgran pedazo de hielo\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Durante su intervenci\u00f3n con motivo del Foro Econ\u00f3mico Mundial que est\u00e1 teniendo lugar en la ciudad suiza de Davos, el magnate neoyorquino ha descartado el uso de la fuerza, pero ha lamentado la \u00abfalta de gratitud\u00bb de Dinamarca respecto al asunto.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abDebimos qued\u00e1rnoslo tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial\u00bb, ha afirmado, al tiempo que ha explicado que Estados Unidos \u00abluch\u00f3 a favor de Dinamarca y les devolvi\u00f3 el territorio\u00bb. \u00abSon unos ingratos\u00bb, ha a\u00f1adido.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abLo digo con respeto hacia Dinamarca, a cuya gente amo, y cuyos l\u00edderes son muy buenos. Solo nosotros podemos proteger esta masa de hielo enorme, desarrollarla y mejorarla para que sea bueno y seguro para Europa y para nosotros. Esa es la raz\u00f3n por la que busco negociaciones, para adquirir Groenlandia, tal y como hemos hecho con otros territorios a lo largo de la historia y como han hecho algunos pa\u00edses europeos\u00bb, ha sostenido.<\/span><\/p>\n

En este sentido, ha hecho hincapi\u00e9 en que \u00abno hay nada malo\u00bb con la compra de estos territorios, \u00abmuchos de los cuales, de hecho, ahora son grandiosos\u00bb. \u00abEsto no ser\u00e1 una amenaza para la OTAN; esto mejorar\u00e1 la seguridad de la Alianza al completo. Estamos siendo tratados de forma injusta\u00bb, ha declarado.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abEste es un asunto crucial para nuestra seguridad nacional y, de hecho, ha sido nuestra pol\u00edtica durante cientos de a\u00f1os, evitar la entrada de estas amenazas en nuestro hemisferio, y lo hemos logrado con \u00e9xito. Nunca hemos sido m\u00e1s fuertes que ahora, y esto es lo que los presidentes estadounidenses han estado impulsando desde hace dos siglos: comprar Groenlandia\u00bb, ha aseverado.<\/span><\/p>\n
