Cam\u2019ron<\/a> recently elaborated on why he decided to file a lawsuit<\/a> against J. Cole<\/a> over their \u201cReady \u201924\u201d collab on an episode of Talk With Flee<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Harlem rapper explained that he filed the lawsuit to get the Carolina rapper\u2019s attention after being given the runaround when he needed the favor returned of either a feature or an interview on one of his talk shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never ever wanted to do anything as far as a lawsuit was concerned,\u201d he began. \u201cThis is exactly what happened, just so you know, and I don\u2019t really care anymore; it was just more to get his attention. Not saying that I don\u2019t need to be compensated for what I do or do what you say you\u2019re gonna do. And to me, being a man is keeping your word, and I know everybody\u2019s busy and has things to do and so on and so forth. But if I give you my word four or five times, I gotta do it one time outta the four or five times.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that when Cole asked for a favor, he was able to deliver in a timely fashion. \u201cSo, on [The Off-Season<\/em>], I did an intro for him. He needed it within 24 hours. Luckily I was in my home studio\u2026 I called my engineer over, knocked it out and gave it to him. Cool. I told him I may need a verse whenever I get a project done. He said, \u2018Cool.’\u201d Cam then brought up how he recorded his feature on \u201cReady \u201924\u201d in 20 minutes after meeting up with Cole and Cordae<\/a> at a studio in New York City. \u201cI knocked that sh\u2013 out and went off about my business,\u201d he said before mentioning that he asked Cole for a verse in return. <\/p>\n

However, when the time came, Cam joked that he told him that, \u201cThe chakra ain\u2019t right right now, you know the moon gotta align with the stars. When I write I put my all into it.\u201d With Cam then responding with, \u201cOK, let\u2019s put your all into it. Give me that first. You called me twice to do something, and I did it. One day you have 48 hours to do it. Then I knocked the other thing out as soon as I came to New York, because you ain\u2019t wanna send me your record, you wanted to be in the studio with me. I knocked it out. Cool, you don\u2019t give me the record, which is fine. Then I say, forget the record. Let\u2019s do an interview.\u201d <\/p>\n

J. Cole apparently agreed to it because he had a project planned, but when Cam reached out to schedule the interview, he claimed that he was given the run around once again, but this time it was because it was in the midst of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle and he didn\u2019t want to talk about it without having a project out. \u201c\u2018I can\u2019t do it now because I don\u2019t feel like talking about that right now,’\u201d Cam recalled. \u201cI said, \u2018Look, I\u2019ll do the interview. I won\u2019t even bring that up.\u2019 He says, \u2018Nah, I can\u2019t do no interview and not talk about it.\u2019 \u2018Alright, well, when can I get the interview?\u2019 \u2018Yo, February definite. February, I\u2019m dead ass on February.\u2019 February come. \u2018Yo, what\u2019s up?\u2019 \u2018Oh, sh\u2013. Yo, I\u2019m still working, man.’\u201d<\/p>\n

J. Cole\u2019s long-awaited seventh album The Fall-Off<\/a><\/em> is set to finally drop on Friday, Feb. 6, so maybe he\u2019ll give Killa an interview in the near future.<\/p>\n
